All the things you need to do before bub arrives 
1. Choose a pregnancy management team – doctor, obstetrician, gynaecologist, midwife, doula and your birth support people.
3. Stay Calm, Informed, Happy and Vibrant
4. Go to the Dentist for a check up
5. Know you leave entitlements at work and your workplace rights
6. Confirm 12 week scan.
7. Tell Work (only when you are ready)- plan maternity leave with employer.
8. Contact the Family Assistance office to register and claim for payments you may be entitled to.
9. Confirm 20 week scan (find out if your having a little princess or prince!)
10. SHOP!!!!! Baby clothes, linen, car seat, bassinet, cot, nursing chair, nappies, lotions, choose your nursery theme
11. Find local Mothers Groups & Play Groups
12. Plan baby shower! (Besties LOVE this job), and don’t be shy to invite the fella’s, its an exciting time for them aswell!
13. Ensure all your family members and friends who wish to visit your baby are up to date with their vaccinations -Whooping Cough
14. Write Birthing Plan (Here is a great example) – remember not all plans go to plan, be open minded and informed of your choices and options. A Birth plan is a great tool to provide education and gain confidence in your wishes.
15. Pack Hospital Bag, including pamper items for you! Don’t forget about you in these moments.
16. Cook dinners to freeze for easy meals in the 2 weeks after bub arrives. You and your partner need to ensure you stay well nourished
17. Prepare birth announcement texts, calls to your selected people. Best to have a draft ready so you can spend more time focusing on your new bubba!
18. Organise to have pets looked after while you are in hospital or for a certain period of time after or before the birth
19. Organise baby sitters for other siblings – Grandma and Granddad would love this
20. LOVE and ABSORB – Be present!
